"It's about the people". One of the more consistent lines we've heard over the past few years from A-ARon. Clearly he gave the Jets a laundry list of "To Do's"if they want to sign him and they seem to be knocking them out 1 by 1...
First was hiring Hackett as the Offensive coordinator.
This was early on and Denver struck-out with this approach last year but Hackett was the first domino to fall in landing Aaron. Hack was Aaron's guy for both his MVP seasons in 2020 and 2021, they have a great friendship and he's spoken multiple times about Hackett family and his love for them. Check box 1 complete.
Second, signing free-agent, Allen Lazard.
Not that I'd consider any WR on the Packers last year as putting #1 receiver stats but if you look at them...it Lazard. We've also seen him do the dirty work, great blocking WR, great leader in the locker room apparently, so would be another great pickup for the Jets with or without Aaron. check box 2 complete.
The third and last domino to fall before we hear the official news of Aaron to the Jets is none other then, his best friend, Randall Cobb. Now I don't know if Aaron is getting a percentage of Cobby's contracts because I feel like this is the third one he's lining up for him but another great move for the Jets. Not only will it obvously make Aaron happy but he and Cobb have extremley good chemistry and this is the veteran presence in the locker room that the Jets do not have but desperatly need. Once Cobb is signed, Love Boat szn will commence.
Things that will be hilarious:
Aaron taking the NY media on a ride
Zach Wilson trying to bang Aaron's mom
The Jets missing the playoffs
