No better two words than "Game Seven", or in this case Game 5. Pending the weather forecast for tonight, but it is looking like they should be able to get this game played tonight. I am sure the Yankees want to get this game in and not have to face Shane Bieber again, who only allowed 2 runs in 5.2 innings pitched in a Game 2 win on Friday.
It's no surprise this series has gone 5 games, Cleveland is a solid young team that came into the playoffs heating up, and only losing 7 games less than the Yankees during the regular season. As good as Cleveland has been all year, when Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are hitting a combined 3-28 with 14 K's, which would get you far. The Yanks have lived and died by the home run ball over the last 5 years and although Judge and Stanton both have a homer this series, they cant get far if those two aren't producing more than 3 hits.
Luckily for the Yankees they have gotten to this point from 2 masterful starts from Gerrit Cole. Cole has been able to silence some of the hate he has gotten since coming to the Yankees about his performance in big games and the post season. He even let Boone know that he is available to pitch out of the pen if needed in the must win game 5.
In addition to Cole, the Yankees have been able to find from Harrison Bader. Bader has 3 home runs and has been a spark plug for this team as they try and close out this series. The addition of Bader was a little bit of a question mark when they traded Jordon Montgomery for Bader before the trade deadline. His playoff performance has already paid off and hopefully we can see him help this team again to continue playing a few more weeks of October baseball.
Jameson Taillon takes the mound tonight and with what will be a short leash. I can't see Jameo making it past the 4th or 5th inning unless he's throwing an absolute gem. With Boone already mention Nestor Cortes, Wandy Peralta and Cole available from the bullpen, can't imagine the length Jameo goes (similiar to Luis Severino getting pulled in the 1st inning of the 2017 AL Wildcard Game).
Going to predict a 5-3 Yankee win (over 7.5 +110). Would like think Judge has a bounce back game tonight with it being win or go home, and think Boone puts together a good chess match with how he utilizes the bullpen tonight.
