What’s next for Ja Morant?

Ja Morant’s recent troubles have been documented by now. So this isn’t a piece to review how he earned himself a 25 game suspension to start next season. This is to discuss the future for the young superstar.

Yes I said superstar. He’s box office, and have led the Grizzlies to the second best record the last two seasons. He plays through injury and if you go to an AAU game, his new signature sneaker is amongst one of the most popular. He’s the real deal. Whatever is the opposite of a superstar on the court, is what Ja Morant has been off the court recently.

Ja, here’s the blueprint to get back to the player we all loved.

Be careful of people, places and things. Certain people are down right bad for you. Certain places you either can’t go to or can’t stay at for long. Stop “closing the clubs”. Leave a little early and drink way less. Certain things will for sure be your downfall, if you let it.

I can’t remember seeing a top class athlete publicly drinking the way he does. In fact I was shocked the first time I saw him doing it in the manner he was. There wasn’t a parade or a celebration, he was simply throwing a shot back or drinking straight from the bottle.

Ja can’t afford to get another suspension. I can assure you that the third strike will be very harsh. I’m talking a year long suspension.

And for those defending Ja’s behavior and saying he did not break a law. Maybe he didn’t. But there are rules to working for certain companies and being in certain positions. Whether it’s a moral rule or unwritten. Best believe you are never truly off work and someone is always watching.

For example, a teacher will not have their job for long if they are busting it open on onlyfans. A law enforcement official won’t have their job for long if they are throwing up gang signs and wearing a bandanna on the weekend.

Ja, you have a lot of responsibility. I mean a lot. You’re a role model for kids and the face of endorsements. Morant is influential, especially for little black boys. I’m rooting for you brother. Lock in and make sure the only time we are hearing about you is to praise you as a player, leader, father and son.

You’re good in the west.
