Well very late to the game of accurately keeping track of my spread picks and week 15 wasn't my best! (7-9-1) including the TNF and MNF games. But were off to a hot start to week 16 with the Jags +1.5 (also ML....nbd). No better way to spend the Christmas weekend than sitting on your couch and watching NFL games all day.
It's tough to think that there are only 3 weeks of the regular season left, so lets enjoy it while we can. Gambling can get tricky at this point of the season. Teams are fighting for playoff position, some teams are testing out different quarterbacks, shout out Chris Streveler and the Jets. Week 16 features plenty of juicy matchups. The Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets face off Thursday night in a battle of two teams looking to get in the playoff picture, the Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles, who will have Gardner Minshew, and Aaron Rodgers leads the Green Bay Packers to South Beach for a date with the Miami Dolphins. Now lets get into the games!
Saturday 1pm Slate:
Lions vs. Panthers (DET -2.5)
Sam Darnold was lightning in a bottle when he was back to starting for the Panthers, and although the Lions beating the Jets by 3 wasn't overly impressive, I do think the Lions have that "it" factor and will fight with everything to make the playoffs. I am going to ride with the Lions until the wheels fall off (DET -2.5). Reminder Jared Goff is a close personal friend.
Browns vs. Saints (CLE -2.5)
*loud sigh...louder fart noise* As a Browns fan last week was tough to watch, and Watsons (pervert) return hasn't been great. Nick Chubb has a foot injury, Clowney has a concussion, Myles Garret is sick, Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry have lower-body injuries. With the temperature to be below freezing and windy in Cleveland this game is going to stink. Going to ride with Cleveland -2.5 and Brownie the Elf.
Bengals vs. Patriots (CIN -2.5)
This has my brain thinking the same thing as last week, how are the Bengals not heavier favorites? They have won 6 in a row and the Patriots just came off a devastating loss to the Raiders last week. Everything about this screams trap game. New England have lost 3 of 4 (only win against the Cardinals), I don't think the Patriots come back from last weeks loss, especially the way Joe Burrow has been playing. CIN -2.5.
Ravens vs. Falcons (BAL -6.5)
BIRD GAME ALERT!!! Lamar Jackson still hasn't returned to practice with his knee injury so we have another week of "Snoopy" Huntley. Although Desmond Ridder had some accuracy issues in his first start and Baltimores defense is tough, I didn't like they're performance against the Browns last week. So I'll be riding with the rookie and the dirty birds (ATL +6.5).
Bills vs. Bears (BUF -8)
11-3 vs. 3-11. Trap game alert! Bills were favored by a touchdown against Miami and didn't cover, Bears with 9 point underdogs against the Eagles and covered. This pick is just simple math, give me Chicago +8.
Chiefs vs. Seahawks (KC -10)
Mahomes is going to win MVP with Jalen Hurts likely to heal the remainder of the season. Pray for Seattles defense with a weak pass rush and a sus secondary. I will not be burned by another double digit KC spread. Geno Smith writes back! Seattle +10. Taking the over 49.5 thats a Christmas gift from YH.
Vikings vs. Giants (MIN -4)
The Minnesota Miracle part 2 happened last Saturday (live bet them +1600 live thanks Uncle Tim). I HATE HATE HATE this line. Minnesota's tackle combo of Christian Darrisaw and Brian O'Neil should neutralize the Giants’ peaking edge-rush duo of Azeez Ojulari and Kayvon Thibodeaux. I think the Vikings win, but the play here is the Giants +4 as they fight to stay in a playoff spot.
Texans vs. Titans (TEN -3)
Tannehill is out for the season, but the Titans can still make the playoffs. Texans stink. Ever hear of this guy Derrick Henry? He's not bad at this football thing, especially against the Texans. His last 4 games against Houston: 32 rushes, 211 yards, 3 TD, 22 rushes, 212 yards, 2 TD, 34 rushes, 250 yards, 2 TD, 32 rushes, 219 yards, 2 TD. All Malik Willis has to do is not fuck up handing off the ball. Titans -3, and every Derrick Henry prop bet.
"GET OFF ME"
Saturday 4pm Slate:
49ers vs. Commanders (SF -7)
Chase Young makes his season debut, which may be the first test Big Cock Brock Purdy. I think the 9ers defense will be too much for Taylor Heinicke, can see him forcing too much and turning the ball over. Heineken is also a terrible beer. SF -7, you're welcome Neef.
Cowboys vs. Eagles (DAL -5)
Gardner Minshew will be starting, Dallas defense has been giving up big plays. This game can go either way. Cowboys have looked lost these last few weeks, and Minshew is good enough to be serviceable with the offensive weapons Philly has. Give me Minshew, give me the jorts, and give me PHI +5.
Saturday 8:15pm:
Steelers vs. Raiders (PIT -2.5)
This is one of those wacky end of the season games. Both teams are 6-8, one team will become 6-9 (nice), pending no tie. As much as I love Josh Jacobs and Devante Adams, mostly for carrying my fantasy team, but on the 50th anniversary of "The Immaculate Reception" in the week the Steelers lost the great Franco Harris, this has to be Pits game, right? WRONG. Give me Vegas +2.5.
Sunday 1pm:
Dolphins vs. Packers (MIA -4)
Miami has the weapons to dismantle the Packers defense, Waddle, Tyreek, Mostert. This should be a blow out, by the Packers. If you tuned into the Pat McAfee show this week and listened to Rodgers breaking down the Dolphins defense, it's no surprise he's prepared for this matchup. GB has been playing pretty efficient of late, and you don't count out Rodgers when he has a chance to "run the table". GB +4
Sunday 4:30pm:
Broncos vs. Rams (DEN -3)
Going to keep this one short and sweet. The Rams are going to ride out Baker and see what he's worth. Show up and show out, Baker is playing for a contract next year. Rams +3.
Sunday 8:20pm:
Buccaneers vs. Cardinals (TB -7.5)
Tom Brady stinks, the Cardinals stink. loud wet fart noise*. Hope this game ends in a tie. Colt McCoy confirmed does NOT have that dog in him. TB -7.5. And the under.
MNF:
Chargers vs. Colts (LA -4)
Ah another trap game! Can the chargers solidify their playoff spot? And former superbowl champ Nick Foles will be starting. "I feel like Nick will give us a better chance to go win these last three games.”- Jeff Saturday. Bold strategy cotton let's see if it pays off. I'm a firm believer of when a back up starts they cover. Will need Dr. Data to confirm those numbers but give me Indy and the points +4.
