Weather Delay At The Masters, So Let's Talk About Amateur Sam Bennett

How about this guy Sam Bennett. Playing in his first Masters, paired with the defending Champ Scottie Scheffler, and the #5 ranked player in the world Max Homa, and is currently sitting alone in 2nd place at 8 under, just 4 strokes back of Brooks Koepka.

Bennett earned his spot in the Masters by winning last year’s U.S. Amateur. He won the Havemeyer Trophy at Ridgewood Country Club by beating some of the best amateurs in the world, including four players ranked in the top 15 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Bennett entered the week ranked No. 3 in the world and is currently ranked No. 6.

Bennett has already made the cut in one major, finishing T49 in last year’s U.S. Open. That was a huge stepping stone for Bennett, who’d missed the cut in his first three pro events and had a 76.1 scoring average in those six rounds. “I could barely get the ball on the tee in the first couple of PGA TOUR events,” he said, referring to his nerves. “Playing the U.S. Open really helped.”

Yes, this is a feel good story and this guy Sam has some STONES the way he has handled his first two rounds at Augusta National, but the really story is, he's just playing lights out and popping Zyn's in his lip like their tic tacs.

Regardless how the weekend rounds play out for Bennett, this guy will become a fan favorite. Who knows, maybe throwing in a few pouches throughout the round is the key to success in golf. Koepka packs long cut though and thats why he's in first.
