A lot of craziness in the wild card round of the NFL. Flacco magic comes to an end, Stroud flourishes under the pressure, the Dolphins unstoppable offense is officially done, the Packers are good? Or are the Cowboys the same Cowboys we've been seeing for years now? There's one team that has caught my attention and now my heart. That team is the Detroit Lions.
Say what you want about Detroit, but if that win against the Rams doesn't impress you maybe you need to take a long walk on a short pier. Matt Stafford brings the Rams back to Detriot to try and have a run at the championship once more, the only thing that he must've forgot was that Detroit is now Goff's city. From the jump I had people telling me that the Rams are going to run over the Lions and we'll see the Lions for "who they truly are". HAHA look at that, still mad? You bet your ass I put my last stimulus check on the Lions money line and it did not disappoint.
This team all year has been an absolute blast to watch and make money on. The solid and strategic running game by David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, solid route running and big deep balls caught by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta who by the way broke the NFL record for receptions in a season by a rookie tight end. LaPorta finished the regular season with 86 catches for 889 yards, was his jersey added to the cart over the weekend? yes, yes it was, in every color way. Goff this season as well, passing in the pocket looks effortless to him and he proved it against the Rams in the first round managing the clock, playcalling, 277 passing yards and a touchdown. However I must say, my favorite part of watching this Lions team is the 4th down conversions. Dan Campbell is mad man when it comes to 4th&5 or less. Theres no better feeling when you're sweating out Montgomery over 57.5 yards and he hits on that 4th&3 like it's nothing. All around the squad is amazing and I can't wait to see them battle Baker in the Motor City.
I understand what you might be thinking, Dave why not the Ravens? The 49ers? Well I'll make it simple for you, Sunday at 3:00 tune into the Lions vs. Buccaneers. It's a crazy vibe there in Detroit, not only do they have 65,000 going crazy, but they got 65,000 singing Lose Yourself with Eminem on the megatron leading the way. This city is hungry, these guys play with grit, their coach is a living legend and doesn't care who steps on that field. Coach Campbell is going to "Build Our Legacy" and it starts with winning the Super Bowl in 2024. GOOOOOOOOOO LIONSSSSSSS!!!!!!
