The Yankees finally packed in the season, and decided to call up the kids. Like they did a few years back when they called up Aaron Judge, Tyler Austin, Gary Sanchez and Greg Bird, the Yankees announced Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells will be September call ups.
Top Yankees prospect Jasson Dominguez was called up prior to Friday's game against the Astros and inserted into the lineup for his MLB debut. He was tasked with facing future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander. Let's just say he was ready. This is the first swing he ever took in a major-league game: Nicknamed "The Martian" he did not disappoint, and certainly lived up to the hype of his other worldly projections.
I had a sick feeling he would homer tonight, and yes I know it's easy to say that after he did, but my sportsbook didn't offer his homer odds or I would have the bet slip to prove it. I remember being at Yankee stadium when Aaron Judge and Tyler Austin went back to back for their first career homers and figured Dominguez would do that same. Shout out @BenVerlander for taking the time to acknowledge his brother gave up this homer.
Big things to come from the new look "Baby Bombers" looking forward to see whats in store for the kid.
