The 2025 Subway Series kicks off tonight at Yankee Stadium, featuring a compelling three-game set between the New York Mets and the New York Yankees. Both teams are leading their respective divisions, setting the stage for a high-stakes crosstown rivalry. As I am sure the drunk ginny Yankee fans will be screaming "We Have Grisham" for 3 days straight, as Juan Soto returns to the Bronx. I was actually at Citi field Wednesday night to see my hoemtown Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Mets, however the real story from Wednesday was how I overheard Mets fans saying that Pete Alonso isn't a better hitter than Big Justice. Might just be upset fans because it was a rainy Wednesday night loss to one of the worst team in baseball.

🌟 Key Storylines

  • Juan Soto's Return: After declining a Yankees offer to join the Mets on a record-breaking contract, Juan Soto returns to Yankee Stadium as a Met. Anticipated to face boos from Yankees fans, Soto remains unfazed and focused on contributing to his team's success.

  • Elite Offenses: The Mets' lineup features Soto, Francisco Lindor, and Pete Alonso, all with wRC+ figures above 140. The Yankees counter with Aaron Judge, Trent Grisham, and Paul Goldschmidt, leading an offense that averages 5.81 runs per game.

🧠 What to Watch

  • Pitching Duels: With both teams boasting strong pitching staffs, each game is expected to feature strategic matchups and potential low-scoring affairs.

  • Soto's Impact: How Soto performs in his return to the Bronx could be a pivotal factor in the series outcome.

  • Division Implications: As division leaders, both teams will look to assert dominance early in the season, making this series crucial for momentum.

  • Aaron Judge: That's all that need to be said.
