One of the biggest questions coming into this week at Augusta has been, how will the LIV Tour player perform in the first major of the year. I think that was quickly put to rest since Brooks Koepka put together two solid first rounds and is the solo leader at -12. But let's not discredit defending Open Championship winner, Cameron Smith.
The Aussie arrived at The Masters and stated his game isn't exactly where he'd like it to be, but this hasn't stopped him from playing his usual aggressive game. Smith sat in the fairway bunker after his drive on the par 5, 8th hole, and decided to smoke a fairway wood that was shaped magically and ran up the left side off the green, and with a kick and a good bounce landed on the green and trickled down for a make able eagle putt. Shout out @Daniel_Rapaport

From 258 yards away, Smith had to carry it over the lip of the massive, intimidating sand trap. Easily could've failed to get the ball up fast enough out of the dirt. And you know, tree trouble! Smith said fuck it I'll do it live, and fuck this sand. I'm bummed we won't see him more in marquee events like this. Still to late to pull out of LIV? I need more quality Cam Smith golf in my life.
Smith is one of the best in the game with the flat stick, and has never been one to shy away from aggressive play, as we saw when he won the Players Championship last year. If he can get the putter rolling these last two rounds, and other players are effected by the weather, it would be interesting to see him get back in contention at Augusta National.
