Notable NY Bad Boy, Robert Saleh was escorted out of the Jets facility earlier today as he was relieved of his coaching duties for the Jets. When I said "Bad Boy" what I really mean is bad coach. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't.
Robert Saleh's .357 winning percentage ranks as the worst in Jets franchise history among coaches with a minimum of 40 games at the helm.
Coach | Record |
Robert Saleh | 20-36 (.357) |
Todd Bowles | 24-40 (.375) |
Bruce Coslet | 26-38 (.406) |

"This morning, I informed Robert Saleh that he will no longer serve as the Head Coach of the Jets. I thanked him for his hard work these past three-and-a-half years and wished him and his family well moving forward. This was not an easy decision, but we are not where we should be given our expectations, and I believe now is the best time for us to move in a different direction," owner Woody Johnson said in a statement.
"Jeff Ulbrich will serve as our Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season. He is a tough coach who has the respect of the coaches and players on this team. I believe he along with the coaches on this staff can get the most out of our talented team and attain the goals we established this offseason."
"There's so much football to be played," Saleh said Monday. "There's so many things that we can get better at, and there's so many things that we can continue to build on, the things that we are doing well.
"So, I'm not panicked. Nobody in the building is panicked."....this clearly did not age well.
Yes, dysfunctional teams do dysfunctional things. As to one specific thing that happened this morning, it’s a dysfunctional thing that didn’t happen the last time the Jets fired a head coach. Per multiple sources, Jets coach Robert Saleh was escorted out of the building by the team’s director of security, after Saleh got the news.
That didn’t happen, we’re told, when the Jets fired Saleh’s predecessor, Adam Gase.
The now-former Jets head coach was “blindsided” by owner Woody Johnson walking into his office and telling him he was making a coaching change, Saleh told Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.
“Certainly disappointed he wasn’t going to be given the opportunity to get things going with what he said is a very good roster,” Glazer added.
In a season that had the Jets as potential Super Bowl Contenders, has quickly turned to disarray. The defense isn't what it's cracked up to be. Breece Hall has not been as good as he's been. Rodgers is 40 and threw three picks in what was a very winnable game in London.
The Jets have enough season left to turn it around and I do believe they will turn it around, but thinking long term, they will have a lot of question marks after this season, the major one will be surronding their QB next.
