The 49ers had 6 players selected to the 2023 Pro Bowl. DL Nick Bosa, S Talanoa Hufanga, FB Kyle Juszczyk, TE George Kittle, LB Fred Warner and T Trent Williams .
In addition, OL Jake Brendel, K Robbie Gould, RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Ray-Ray McCloud III (return specialist), WR Deebo Samuel, CB Charvarius Ward and P Mitch Wishnowsky were selected as alternates.
Now I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t know how the hell they have alternatives already. I don’t understand it. How do they know which players aren’t going to play? I’m also not sober enough to figure it out right now.
With all that said, I want to list my top 3 Pro Bowl snubs from the 49ers.
Charvarius Ward. As I mentioned, Ward was selected as an alternative, but I wanted to see him as a starter. I thought he earned that. He’s had a great year and been the number one cornerback on the number one defense. If you don’t think he’s been playing great, go watch the 49ers last game when he followed DK Metcalf around the entire game.
Christian McCaffrey. He was also selected as an alternative. Shaking my head. Listen, I get Saquan making it over him. But I am debating the other two running backs, Miles Sanders and Tony Pollard. CMC has 1,578 all purpose yards while Barkley has 1,464, Pollard has 1,279 and Sanders has 1,182. Come on man!
Brock Purdy. Are you kidding me? What a stud, I mean snub. I know he’s only played 3 games. I know he only has 678 yards and 6 touchdowns, but he got that dog in him. He leads the league in dog bones. The Brock Weiler! Don’t worry, my boy Brock will get the last laugh when he’s super bowl mvp. Use this as motivation.
