#PGATour Wyndham Championship: Picks, Previews, Odds

Sedgefield Country Club | Par 70 | 7,131 yards

The PGA Tour’s regular season comes to a conclusion this week at the 2023 Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Like we saw last week at the 3M, the Wyndham features a watered-down field with most of the Tour’s elite players opting to rest ahead of the three-leg FedEx Cup Playoffs, which kicks off at TPC Southwind next week.

Justin Thomas, the biggest name in the field, is fighting for more than just a playoff spot, he’s hoping to make a final impression on United States Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson. Thomas comes into the week in Greensboro, North Carolina, ranked 79th in the FedEx Cup standings. The top 70 get into the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis next week.

Other noteable golfers include: Adam Scott, Shane Lowry and Gary Woodland are just three of the other big names hoping a good week at Sedgefield can propel them into the postseason.

2023 Wyndham Championship Betting Odds (Top 12 and ties)

Hideki Matsuyama (+2000) Sungjae Im (+2000) Russell Henley (+2200) Sam Burns (+2200) Denny McCarthy (+2500) J.T. Poston (+2800) Si Woo Kim (+3000) Shane Lowry (+3000) Adam Scott (+3300) Cam Davis (+3300) Justin Thomas (+3300) Keith Mitchell (+3300) Ludvig Aberg (+3300)

Were switching it up this week in who were taking. No nonsense, no over thinking, just going old school.

Just going to get this out early, I am a JT supporter, but we are fading him this week. I can not keep backing him. I have a family to feed.

Russell Henley (+2200)

Three straight top-10s at this event. A great course fit and on a solid run heading into this week. Henley has always passed the eye test to me, always been a fan of his, so he gets my favorite of the week pick.

J.T. Poston (+2800) Took him live on Sunday morning this past weekend. He was in the final group of the 3M Open, he trailed playing partner Lee Hodges by three strokes on the par-5 final hole. He would eventually end with a triple-bogey, which caused him to drop from solo second place to a three-way tie, essentially coughing up $260,000 in the process. He wants that money back!

Billy Horschel (+6500)

Hear me out. You always need a long shot in your arsenal. Cant bet the favorites and expect to win big money. Sometimes you have to take a chance and run a Hail Mary on 1st and 10 in the first quarter of the game. Of course, last week’s performance has moved him to half the outright price as last week in an arguably better field. Similar to Henley, I've always been a fan of Bill Horschel and riding with him this week.

Keeping the card smaller this week, and hoping to see one of these guys pull out an end of the season win to head into the FedExCup playoffs.
