When I first started writing blogs it was towards the end of my work from home sales job, counting down the days until I had to return to office. I never expected people to read it, nor did I care. I started writing as a way to get thoughts out, throw out some sports takes, and eventually describe my beef with my office janitor upon my return to the office.
As someone who doesn't spell or grammar check, I just pounded the keyboard and would giggle to myself as I wrote about another Yankees post season collapse, or dying my hair blonde because I bet myself the Islanders would make the playoffs....etc etc. I remember being nervous to show friends and family my writing because I was never confident in my "pen to paper" and assumed I was always trying to be funny. Despite finally sharing it and passing my writing around for people to give me honest feedback, I regularly heard...."you'll never be Barstool Sports". Not my endgame, shoutout Tony Stark.
I have always been a follower of Barstool Sports, from my time in college reading the blogs during class, now to consuming a good amount of their podcasts/live streams. Dave Portnoy often talks about how people DM him saying how certain employees should be fired and how much better anonymous twitter/instagram follower would be a better employee. This isn't the point of this blog.
This is about the all time fumbling of a bag/career, that is "Billy Football" As an avid Pardon My Take and YAK listener, I have a pretty good grasp on the on camera scene of Barstool Sports. No one, and I mean no one, has just wanted it less than Billy.
Reading his last blog regarding him leaving the "Macrodosing" podcast, hosted by PFT and former NFL running back Arian Foster. There are times in life when you are offered an opportunity, chance, or event just a gift. It is up to you to either run with that chance, or just go about your business and see how it goes. Billy not only, did not want to move to Chicago when the PMT/majority of Macrodosing podcasts left NYC. Instead, he wanted to stay in NYC, play on their rec league basketball team, call out teams, go to Africa to "coach" football, and somehow be their QB, and basically just do whatever he wants.
Since, he has now started his political campaign. Some people are giving the blue print, being hand fed from Big Cat and PFT, instead he chosen to do his own path. I have no personal ill will against him, I wished he wouldve learned and grown from coming into the public spotlight of a multi million dollar media company while playing college football.
The best part of his most recent blog is shouting out his half marathon that "broke his body" Have no idea how that has anything to do with him showing up to record podcasts but that's none of my business"
"This really is Billy's last stand; it's time to put up or shut up, sink or swim. I have historically irrational confidence, but that's what keeps me swinging for the fences. I don't regret a thing.
