Last week, the rankings were:1. Dodgers, 2. Blue Jays, 3. Padres, 4. Yankees, 5. Braves, 6. Brewers, 7. Rangers, 8. Cubs, 9. Guardians, 10. Marlins.

One week later, the league has completely shifted. The Atlanta Braves now have the best record in baseball at 19-8, continuing to dominate despite injuries and roster turnover . The Chicago Cubs are the hottest team in the sport, riding a 10-game winning streak, including a comeback win over the Dodgers . Meanwhile, the New York Yankees have quietly stacked wins, extending their streak to seven games .

On the flip side, teams like the Blue Jays, Mets, and Phillies have completely collapsed early, showing just how volatile April baseball can be .

This is where things start to get real.

Week 4 MLB Power Rankings (10–1)

10. Miami Marlins (Last Week: #10)

Miami holds steady. They’re hovering around .500, not dominating, but avoiding bad losing streaks. In a chaotic middle tier, consistency keeps them in.

9. Cleveland Guardians (Last Week: #9)

The Guardians continue to win games quietly. They aren’t overwhelming statistically, but they keep stacking wins and leading their division.

8. Milwaukee Brewers (Last Week: #6)

Milwaukee drops but stays in the top 10. Injuries and a cooled-off offense have slowed them down, but they’re still a competitive, above-.500 team .

7. Cincinnati Reds (NEW)

The Reds force their way into the rankings with one of the best records in baseball. They’re winning consistently, even if the underlying numbers aren’t dominant.

6. Pittsburgh Pirates (NEW)

Pittsburgh is legit. Strong pitching, highlighted by dominant outings like Paul Skenes taking a perfect game deep into a start, has pushed them into contender status .

5. San Diego Padres (Last Week: #3)

The Padres remain one of the most consistent teams in baseball. They continue to win series and stay near the top of the NL, even if they haven’t been the hottest team this week.

4. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last Week: #1)

The Dodgers drop out of the top spot, but they are still elite. Even in losses, they’re competitive, and their overall body of work keeps them firmly in the top tier.

3. New York Yankees (Last Week: #4)

The Yankees are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. A long winning streak, strong offense, and improved pitching have them looking like the best team in the American League .

2. Chicago Cubs (Last Week: #8)

No team has more momentum. A 10-game winning streak, comeback wins, and complete team play have pushed the Cubs into true contender status. This surge is very real .

1. Atlanta Braves (Last Week: #5)

The Braves take over the top spot. Best record in baseball, elite run differential, and consistent dominance — this is the most complete team in the league right now .

Who’s Out of the Top 10 — And Why

The Toronto Blue Jays fall from #2 to completely out. A losing record and a -25 to -28 run differential show a team that’s not performing on either side of the ball .

The Texas Rangers drop out after hovering around .500. They’ve been inconsistent and haven’t kept pace with hotter teams like Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.

The New York Mets continue to spiral, stuck in a losing streak and unable to stabilize either their offense or bullpen .

We’ve officially moved past early overreactions — this is starting to become reality:

  • The Braves are the best team in baseball

  • The Cubs are the hottest team in the league

  • The Yankees are surging hard

  • The Dodgers are still elite

  • And teams like the Blue Jays are already in trouble

Next week’s question is simple: Who sustains it — and who falls off?
