The New York Knicks are officially one win away from the NBA Finals, and at this point there may not be a hotter team in basketball.
Behind another masterclass from Jalen Brunson, the Knicks marched into Cleveland Saturday night and completely overwhelmed the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, taking a commanding 3-0 series lead and pushing one step closer to their first NBA Finals appearance in decades. Madison Square Garden may be the heart of basketball right now, but Cleveland witnessed firsthand why this Knicks team suddenly feels like a team of destiny.
Brunson once again looked like the biggest star on the floor, pouring in 30 points while controlling the pace of the game from start to finish. Every time Cleveland attempted to make a run, Brunson answered with another tough bucket, another clutch mid-range jumper, or another calm possession that completely silenced the crowd. At this point, there is no longer any debate: Jalen Brunson has officially become the King of New York.
What makes this Knicks run even more impressive is how complete the team has become over the last few weeks.
Since that emotional locker room moment during the Atlanta series — when Mikal Bridges reportedly broke down and challenged the team to lock in and stop wasting opportunities — the Knicks have transformed into an entirely different monster. Saturday’s win marked New York’s ninth straight victory, and every game during this streak has looked more convincing than the last.
This is no longer just a “Brunson carries the Knicks” story.
Mikal Bridges continued his outstanding two-way play, OG Anunoby completely disrupted Cleveland’s perimeter offense defensively, and Karl-Anthony Towns once again gave New York the interior presence and offensive versatility the franchise has desperately lacked in past playoff runs. Josh Hart brought the nonstop energy and hustle that has become the identity of this team, while the Knicks bench continued to outplay Cleveland’s supporting cast.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers simply looked broken by the fourth quarter.
Cleveland fought hard early and tried feeding off the home crowd energy, but once New York seized control late, the Cavs completely unraveled defensively. Transition defense disappeared, communication broke down, and the Knicks started scoring almost at will during the closing minutes of the game. What was once supposed to be a competitive Eastern Conference Finals is suddenly looking dangerously close to a sweep.
And yes, even celebrity row made the trip to Cleveland.

Taylor Swift was in attendance alongside her fiancé, adding extra star power to an already massive night, but by the final minutes she looked more like someone trying to comfort a devastated fanbase than celebrating courtside. Cameras repeatedly caught her reacting to Cleveland’s defensive collapse late in the fourth quarter as the Knicks continued pouring it on. The Cavaliers simply had no answers once New York started rolling downhill offensively.
That is becoming the defining trait of this Knicks run: when momentum swings in their favor, teams cannot stop them.
The scary part for the rest of the league is that New York still looks hungry. This team is defending at an elite level, playing unselfish basketball offensively, and getting contributions from everybody in the rotation. Tom Thibodeau has this roster fully bought in, and right now they are playing with the confidence of a championship contender.
Now the Knicks stand just one win away from the NBA Finals.
One more victory and New York will complete one of the most memorable playoff runs the franchise has seen in a generation. For a fanbase that has waited decades for a team truly capable of bringing basketball glory back to Madison Square Garden, this suddenly feels very real.
The Knicks are not just winning anymore.
They are a team of dynasty.
