When the dust settled on the blockbuster Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to Miami, one thing became abundantly clear around the NBA: Jaylen Brown's name isn't going away anytime soon.

For weeks, Brown was at the center of trade speculation as Boston reportedly explored ways to enter the Giannis sweepstakes. Ultimately, the Celtics weren't willing or able to put together the package necessary to land the former MVP, and Miami struck first. But now the question becomes whether Boston views Brown as a long-term cornerstone next to Jayson Tatum or whether this summer marks the beginning of a new chapter for both sides.

Let's be clear about something: Jaylen Brown is still one of the best two-way wings in basketball. He's an NBA champion, an NBA Finals MVP, a four-time All-Star, and a player capable of averaging 25-plus points per game while defending the opposing team's best perimeter scorer. Players with that résumé don't become available often.

The challenge is that Brown has spent his entire prime sharing the spotlight with Tatum. While that partnership has delivered tremendous success, including a championship, there has always been a lingering debate about whether Brown could be even better as the unquestioned No. 1 option somewhere else. With Giannis now off the board and the NBA Draft kicking off tonight, rival executives will undoubtedly be making calls to Boston to see if the Celtics are willing to listen.

One team that makes a lot of sense is the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland has accumulated young talent but still lacks a true superstar wing to build around. Brown would immediately become the face of the franchise while fitting alongside Scoot Henderson and the rest of their young core. The Celtics could receive draft capital and young pieces in return while resetting their roster around Tatum.

Another intriguing destination is the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets have been searching for a legitimate franchise player ever since the Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving era ended. Brown would instantly become the centerpiece of their rebuild while remaining in a major market. Brooklyn owns a significant collection of future draft picks and could put together one of the most attractive offers available.

Keep an eye on the Atlanta Hawks as well. Brown grew up in Georgia and has been linked to Atlanta in trade rumors for years. Pairing him with Trae Young would create one of the league's most dynamic offensive duos. The Hawks have enough young talent and draft assets to make a compelling offer if they decide to push their chips into the middle of the table.

The San Antonio Spurs could emerge as a dark horse. Victor Wembanyama has already become one of the league's brightest stars, but the Spurs still need another proven scorer and playoff-tested veteran to accelerate their championship timeline. Brown would fit perfectly as a two-way wing who could take pressure off Wembanyama while bringing leadership and postseason experience. San Antonio has the assets to make virtually any deal happen if they decide Brown is the missing piece.

Another fascinating possibility is the Utah Jazz. Danny Ainge has never been afraid to make a bold move, and he knows Brown's game better than most after helping draft him in Boston. Utah has an abundance of draft capital and young players and could instantly become relevant in the Western Conference by acquiring a player of Brown's caliber.

Then there are the Houston Rockets. Houston took a major leap forward this past season, but they still lack a proven superstar wing. Brown would immediately elevate them into legitimate title contention while fitting their physical, defensive identity. If the Rockets decide they're done waiting on young prospects to develop, Brown could be their target.

The reality is that Boston doesn't need to trade Jaylen Brown. The Celtics remain one of the league's premier organizations and continue to compete at the highest level. But NBA history tells us that once a player's name starts appearing in superstar trade conversations, those rumors rarely disappear completely.

For Brown personally, there has to be some appeal to finally becoming the unquestioned face of a franchise. For years he's operated in Tatum's shadow despite building an incredible career of his own. Somewhere around the league there is a team willing to hand him the keys and say, "This is your team now."

Whether that happens tonight, later this summer, or not at all remains to be seen. But with Giannis off the market and draft night chaos about to begin, Jaylen Brown's future may become one of the biggest storylines of the NBA offseason.

The Celtics survived the Giannis sweepstakes. The question now is whether Jaylen Brown still wants something more than being Batman's sidekick in Boston.
