If I Could Switch Lives With Anyone Right Now… It’s Paul Skenes and It’s Not Even Close

Everyone has played this game before.

You’re sitting around with friends, watching sports, scrolling Twitter, or just killing time and someone asks the question:

“If you could switch lives with anyone in the world right now, who would it be?”

There are a million answers people could give.

Some people will say a billionaire. Some people will say a movie star. Some people will say a musician on a world tour.

But if we’re being honest with ourselves — especially if you love sports — the answer right now is pretty obvious.

Paul Skenes.

And honestly, it’s not even close.

23 Years Old and Already One of the Best Pitchers in Baseball

Paul Skenes is 23 years old and you can already make the argument he’s the best pitcher in baseball.

If he’s not number one, the only guy you’re putting ahead of him right now is Tarik Skubal, who has been absolutely dominant the last couple seasons.

But Skenes isn’t just good — he’s that kind of pitcher where every time he steps on the mound you feel like you’re watching something different.

100 mph fastballs.

Wipeout sliders.

The kind of stuff where hitters look like they’re guessing rather than reacting.

And somehow, despite throwing absolute gas every time he pitches, the guy just looks calm doing it.

The College Career Was Already Legendary

Before he even got to professional baseball, Skenes already had one of the coolest paths you’ll see in sports.

He started his college career at the Air Force Academy, which already tells you something about the kind of person he is.

Then he transferred to LSU, where things took off in a major way.

He went on to win a College World Series championship, dominating hitters along the way and becoming the most electric pitcher in college baseball.

If you watched that LSU run, it felt like every start he made was must-watch TV.

First Overall Pick… Then Immediate Superstar

After that season, Skenes became the first overall pick in the MLB Draft.

Which felt like the least surprising thing in the world.

You had a pitcher throwing triple digits, dominating the best hitters in college baseball, and

carrying a national championship team.

There really wasn’t much debate.

Then he got to the big leagues… and somehow things kept getting better.

In his rookie season he managed to do the almost impossible:

Win Rookie of the Year and the Cy Young Award.

That basically never happens.

And now here we are heading into another season where he’s already viewed as one of the faces of the sport.

And Somehow He’s Winning Off the Field Too

If baseball success wasn’t enough, Skenes is also absolutely winning off the field.

He’s dating Livvy Dunne, who might be the most famous college athlete/social media star in the world.

And listen — we’re all adults here.

Livvy Dunne is an absolute rocket ship.

So not only is Skenes dominating baseball and winning awards at 23 years old, he’s also living a life most people would probably trade places for in about two seconds. Get you a girl who also can make dank memes after her man was smiling at Bobby Witt Jr being a defensive wizard in last night's WBC game.

The Best Part: He Just Seems Like a Normal Dude

What might make Skenes even more likable is the fact that he doesn’t seem like he’s trying to be a superstar.

Every interview he does, every clip you see, he just seems like a chill, down-to-earth guy who loves baseball.

No drama.

No weird attention-seeking.

Just a guy who throws 100 mph and wants the ball every five days.

And honestly, that might be the most impressive thing about the whole situation.

The Only Other Acceptable Answer: Joe Burrow

Now if we’re making a list, there is one other guy who deserves a shout.

Joe Burrow.

Super Bowl quarterback.

Cooler than everyone else in the room.

Walks into stadiums like it’s a runway.

But even with Burrow in the mix, Skenes might still take the top spot right now.

Because when you stack everything together:

• 23 years old• Best pitcher in baseball• Cy Young winner• Rookie of the Year• National champion• First overall pick• Dating Livvy Dunne

…it’s a pretty unbeatable resume for someone whose career is just getting started.

Honorable mention's. Harry Styles, Uncle Tim. A solid mount Rushmore.
