How The US Team Comes Back To Win The Ryder Cup On Sunday

Through two days at the 44th Ryder Cup, the European team have dominated the competition, setting themselves up for a historic margin of victory over the U.S. team.

But it isn’t over yet. Sunday’s final day of competition will feature 12 one-on-one singles matches, all of which are worth a full point. If the Americans want to reclaim the Cup they won in 2021, they’ll need to put together a historic Sunday charge.

Team USA hasn't looked great....at all. Zach Johnson telling Jordan Spieth to put the driver away and hit 3 wood....goes in the water. Patrick Cantlay isn't wearing a hat because it "doesn't fit". Everyone on the team is battling "congestion". A lot of excuses from this team.

Max Homa has easily been the best player and rookie for the US in these first two days. Patrick Cantlay despite the slow play, rumors, and hate of him, came up with a huge putt on 18 in his match against Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy to steal a much needed point heading into Sundays solo match ups.

Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Åberg had reduced Scottie Scheffler to tears earlier in the day after defeating the world No 1 and Brooks Koepka 9&7, the biggest 18-hole win in Ryder Cup history, only to struggle in the afternoon session and fall to a 4&3 loss to Sam Burns and Collin Morikawa. My co worker Jim is a huge Hovland fan, and it sucks to see that Jim has been all over team Europe, sad!

Europe need four points in the Sunday singles to regain the trophy and win a seventh consecutive home edition of the biennial contest, while Zach Johnson's American team need eight points to retain the cup and 8.5 points to end their 30-year wait for victory on away soil.

I am not a fan of the blind picking for the Sunday match ups. I personally think both the US and European team captains should have to meet tonight, and since US is down, they say who they select for match 1 and Europe can counter with who they want. But I don't work for the PGA. All is know is no one of Team USA should wear a hat tomorrow, let the mullets fly, and win every match.

Europe traditionally puts out their heavy hitters early to put on the pressure and hopefully secure the match early in the day. I wouldn't be shocked if Rory, Rahm, and Hovland are the first 3 out for team Europe. USA should counter with Brooks, Cantlay, Homa, to square up with some of their best. Next three I would do Vacation Boys, Spieth, JT, and Fowler. Then let Scottie lead the rest of the misfit toys at the end of the day to secure victory.
