Well well well…on Sunday Night we got the season finale for HBO new hit show House of Dragon. I’ll do my best not to spoil anything, but I’m calling “spoiler alert” now.
I can’t lie, I had my hesitations about watching this series. I was a Game of Thrones super fan, watching the entire series twice and some episodes multiple times. However, like most people, I hated the final season overall. I’m also not a big fan of remakes, prequels or sequels…but House of Dragons exceeded my expectations (outside of one episode) and I’m looking forward to season 2!
So with the dragons roaring and the NFL season heating up, it led me to wonder which NFL players would be some of the shows main characters.
Rhaenyra Targaryen = Patrick Mahomes.
Why: Patrick, my favorite quarterback, just served the number one defense a 40 burger on the road! The throne really belongs to him, but apparently he has to remind everyone. Throw in some weird family dynamics and having a pretty established dad, Patty is our main character.
Young Rhaenyra Targaryen = Joe Burrow.
Why: Joe Burrrrr, like young Rhaenyra is a fan favorite! When they both show up, heads turn. Not much to say here, but two young stars I expect to see more of on the big screen.
Corlys Velaryon = Tua Tagovailoa
Why: Because just when you think he was done for the season he pops back up. Down but not out. His team is loaded and he’s important but in the end, how important will he really be? I have my doubts.
Rhaenys Targaryen = Geno Smith
Why: An oldie but goodie! Both surprisingly major players in the season, shocking everyone with some absolute nukes.
Larys Strong = Tom Brady
Why: Every week things got weirder from both Larys and Tommy Boy! Some strange family issues going on here as well but I have a strange feeling both of these guys will have a serious impact on who sits on the throne.
Lucerys Velaryon = Kyler Murray
Why: This fiery little guy’s season might be over already! Sheesh. Ice up son, ice up.
Aegon Targaryen II = Jalen Hurts
Why: While we have a ton of questions about these two, they both are on top right now. You have our attention, now don’t piss it away, your grace.
Viserys Targaryen I = Aaron Rodgers
Why: You probably think it’s because the old guy took forever to fade away or because he says a lot of weird things…naaaa it was between him and Brady and he looks more like the old king.
Daemon Targaryen = Josh Allen
Why: Simple put, he’s the mvp this season. Week after week he carries the show. It looks like he’s on a head to head collision with someone on his side.
Aemond Targaryen = Daniel Jones?
Why: Both of these guys suck, but I can’t prove it because they have been on fire! Aemond was made fun of for not having a dragon and now he has the biggest dragon in the entire show. An actual Giant! What a turn of events. I can’t trust him though. The same way I didn’t trust adding Daniel Jones off of waivers in fantasy this week. Instead I went with a quarterback that I won’t mention (Jimmy G), and Danny Wheels went for 29 points. Skrrrrrrrt!
