In a thrilling Game 4 of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, the New York Knicks staged another dramatic comeback, defeating the Boston Celtics 121–113 at Madison Square Garden. Trailing by 14 points early in the third quarter, the Knicks outscored the Celtics by 22 points over the final 20:47 of play, securing a commanding 3–1 series lead.

The Celtics' Strong Start

Boston came out firing on all cylinders, with Derrick White knocking down three-pointers and Jayson Tatum leading the charge. Tatum, who scored 42 points before exiting the game with a possible lower-body injury, was a force to be reckoned with. The Celtics' perimeter shooting kept the Knicks at bay, and they built a substantial lead.

The Knicks' Resilient Response

Despite the early deficit, the Knicks remained composed. Jalen Brunson was instrumental in the comeback, scoring 18 of his 39 points in the third quarter. Mikal Bridges contributed 23 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, showcasing his clutch performance. OG Anunoby added 20 points, with nine coming in the final period. Karl-Anthony Towns provided additional support, scoring 23 points.

Tatum's Injury and Its Impact

Late in the game, Tatum suffered a non-contact lower-leg injury, casting a shadow over the Celtics' hopes. At the time already having 42 points, his absence was felt, and the Knicks capitalized on the opportunity to close out the game. LeBron James expressed his support for Tatum, sending a two-word message: "Sending prayers."

Looking Ahead

With the series now at 3–1, the Knicks have a chance to clinch their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at TD Garden, where the Celtics will look to extend the series and avoid elimination. The Knicks, fueled by the recent performances, are poised to make a deep playoff run.

This victory not only showcases the Knicks' resilience but also sets the stage for a potential series-clinching game in Boston. As the playoffs intensify, all eyes will be on the Knicks as they aim to continue their remarkable journey.
