From Zero-Star “Progum” to College Football Glory: The Beginning of a New Dynasty

Every college football dynasty has to start somewhere. For some coaches, it begins under the bright lights of a powerhouse university with five-star recruits, sold out stadiums, and national championship expectations from day one. But for me, that was never the vision. If I’m going to build a legacy, I want to build it from the ground up. I want the sleepless recruiting nights, the ugly conference road games in November, the heartbreak losses, the hidden gems no one believed in, and the satisfaction of turning a forgotten football program into a national powerhouse.
That journey officially begins now.
Over the next several months, I’ll be going live on Twitch and documenting my rise through the college football coaching ranks one game at a time. This won’t just be another casual dynasty playthrough. I’m fully leaning into the role of being a college head coach. Every decision will matter. Recruiting battles will matter. Rivalries will matter. Conference championships will matter. Bowl appearances will matter. And eventually, if everything goes according to plan, national championships will matter too.
The dream is simple: take a lower-tier college football “progum” and slowly build it into a respected Division I powerhouse capable of producing Heisman Trophy winners, NFL talent, conference dominance, and ultimately a College Football National Championship. But the best stories aren’t built overnight. They’re built through adversity, growth, and grinding through seasons where six wins might feel like winning the Super Bowl.
That’s why this journey feels different.
I’m not starting with Alabama. I’m not starting with Georgia. I’m not starting with Ohio State. There will be no loaded roster waiting for me. No elite recruiting classes. No guaranteed playoff appearances. Instead, I’ll be stepping into a rebuilding situation and trying to create something meaningful from scratch. A true underdog story.
To make the experience even more immersive, I’ll also be collecting and wearing merchandise from the schools I coach throughout the dynasty. Every stop along the journey will feel real. From hoodies and hats to sideline quarter-zips, I want to embrace the identity of every program I take over and make this feel as authentic as possible. If we win a conference title, that school becomes part of the story forever.
Streaming also gives this dynasty another fun layer. Some players on my roster may eventually receive renamed characters based on friends, supporters, or viewers to make the streams more interactive and entertaining. It adds personality to the team and makes those game-winning drives, blown coverages, and Heisman campaigns feel even more personal. There’s just something hilarious and unforgettable about screaming at your friend’s created linebacker after he misses an open-field tackle in the fourth quarter of a rivalry game.
The streams will typically begin around 7 or 8 PM EST depending on the day, and the plan is to play at least one game per night while slowly building the program year by year. This won’t be rushed. I want every season to matter. Every recruiting class to matter. Every upset victory to matter.
And yes, for those wondering, I will be starting on Freshman difficulty. Not because I’m trying to cheese the system or put up fake numbers, but because it’s been a while since I’ve fully immersed myself into a college football game like this. The goal is progression. As the dynasty grows, the difficulty will rise with it. There’s no fun in winning every game by 70 points forever. I want the gameplay to evolve alongside the program itself. As the team improves, so will the competition.
But before any of that can happen, there was one final decision to make.
Over the past few days, I evaluated countless programs. I studied rosters. Compared overalls. Reviewed facilities. Met with athletic directors. Ran the numbers. Considered conference paths. Weighed rebuild potential. And after all the research and debate, the time has finally come to make it official.
The school that will begin this dynasty…
The program that will launch my coaching career…
The team I will attempt to turn from a forgotten zero-star “progum” into a future national champion…

…is the Kent State Golden Flashes.
It ultimately came down to two schools: the Akron Zips and Kent State. Akron sat at a 67 overall, while Kent State came in at just a 62 overall. And honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted. If we’re doing this, we’re doing it the hard way.
The rebuild begins now.
The MAC better be ready.
And someday, somehow, the vision is for the Kent State Golden Flashes to walk onto the field in the College Football National Championship with the entire country watching.
The dynasty starts Tuesday night.
