Do We Need a CubeMonkeySports Florida Office? My Week in Florida May Have Made the Decision

Let me start with this:
I came down to Florida for a wedding.
That was the plan.
Another blogger from our site — Uncle Tim — tied the knot down in the Florida Keys, and I
figured it would be a quick escape from New York winter. Sun. Wedding. Back home.
Instead?
I might be planning a southern expansion of CubeMonkeySports.
The Setup: Wedding Weekend Turns Into Florida Living
I flew down last Friday for Uncle Tim’s wedding in the Keys — beautiful ceremony, great vibes, exactly what you imagine when someone says “Florida wedding.”
Palm trees. Ocean breeze. No snow in sight.
But here’s where the story takes a turn.
I ended up staying at his place and dog sitting while they enjoyed their honeymoon. So instead of hotel living, I’ve been experiencing actual Florida lifestyle mode.
And let me tell you…
This is dangerous for someone who lives in New York during peak snowstorm season.

The Daily Routine That Changed Everything
Let’s break down my Florida week:
☀️ Wake up to sunshine — not gray skies🚲 Hop on the bike and ride around town⛳ Sneak in a round of golf📺 Watch games in 70-degree weather🐶 Hang out with the dog🌴 Repeat
Meanwhile, back in New York?
Snowstorm. Wind advisory. “Travel warning. ”Salt trucks. Layers on layers on layers.
And I’m here riding a bike in shorts.
The Weather Is Actually a Performance Enhancer
I didn’t realize how much constant cold affects everything until this week.
When you wake up and it’s 72 degrees?
You want to move.
You want to be outside.
You want to golf.
You want to create.
There’s something about sunlight that makes everything feel more productive and more relaxed at the same time.
And as someone who runs a sports blog, being able to:
Write about games in warm weather
Record content outside
Live in a place that feels energetic
…is kind of a cheat code.
The Golf Factor (This Is Important)
In New York, golf season feels like a privilege.
In Florida?
It’s Tuesday.
I played more golf this week than I probably have in the last month combined. And it wasn’t a scramble to beat sunset or freeze through 18 holes. It was just… normal.
If CubeMonkeySports had a Florida branch, let’s just say the golf coverage might get elite.
Watching Sports Just Hits Different Down Here
There’s something about watching a big game when:
It’s warm out
Windows are open
You’re not snowed in
It just feels lighter. Less “survival mode.”
You’re watching sports because you enjoy it — not because it’s the only thing you can do during a blizzard.
And that matters when your entire platform is built around loving sports.
The Snowstorm Breaking Point
While I’ve been down here, New York has been hit with more snow.
More gray.
More “this again?”
There’s something mentally exhausting about stacking storm after storm.
Meanwhile, I’ve been riding bikes in the Keys.
I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
Is It Time for a CubeMonkeySports Florida Office?
Hear me out:
CubeMonkeySports — South Division.
Florida-based content
Golf coverage
NFL offseason coverage in sunshine
Spring training visits
Outdoor content year-round
It sounds like a joke.
But also… not really.
There’s a real creative energy that comes from being in a place where you can be outside 12 months a year.
The Real Question
Am I moving tomorrow?
No.
Am I suddenly looking at Florida real estate a little differently?
Maybe.
There’s something about this week that made me realize:
You don’t have to live in constant winter.
You can build your life somewhere that feels like vacation — but still grind and create.
This trip was supposed to be about Uncle Tim’s wedding.
Instead, it might’ve been a scouting trip.
CubeMonkeySports Florida Office might sound crazy now…
But if you see a future blog titled:
“Why I Relocated South and Built CubeMonkeySports Year-Round in the Sun”
Just know this week in the Keys started it.
As Cardi B once said...."straight to a penthouse, Miami Beach"
