It was a bad day to bet TCU ML, +12.5, +21.5, +29.5, or +34.5. Sometimes you have games that are blowouts, but this game was an absolute shit pumping. Georgia is the first college football team to win back to back National Championships since Alabama (Led by Aj McCarron lol) in 2011-2012. Georgia played straight up bully ball! It’s also the largest score differential in national championship history, trumping the 36-point deficit that USC beat Oklahoma by in 2004.
Stetson Bennett may have a weird name, a dumb haircut, and 25 years old still playing college football, but the guy is a WINNER. The senior currently has a 93.7 grade on first review, which would be a career-high. The former walk-on completed 72% of his passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns, with two scores coming on the ground as well. College passing stats are always video game esque numbers...unless you're Max Duggan. Bad day to be a horny frog.
I'm not going to lie I turned this game off halfway through the 3rd quarter and turned on New Girl to fall asleep. Georgia dominated in every aspect of the game. Georgia interior defensive lineman Jalen Carter cemented his status as a top-five pick with a strong showing against the Horned Frogs. Carter registered a couple of pressures on 20 pass-rushing snaps and finished with a game-high 76.6 grade on first review for defenders.
My biggest gripe with the most recent college football championships is that they're all decided by 2 scores or more. High scoring games are cool, but not when its one sided. My data was so off for this game, I drank the kool-aid and did whatever acid that frog is on and fell for TCU.
Some big sports stars were in attendance for this game. Deion Sanders, the new coach at Colorado, was among the celebrities on hand for the game. Neon shined brightest, but there were others. Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd and NBA All-Star Luka Doncic were photographed on the sideline before kickoff. Georgia fans were probably happy to see Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who played for the Bulldogs from 2006 to 2008. TCU fans were excited to see LaDainian Tomlinson, who played for the Horned Frogs from 1997 to 2000. He also was there to watch his nephew, Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, a standout senior cornerback who won the Jim Thorpe Award this season. New Orleans Saints quarterback Andy Dalton, who played for TCU from 2006 to 2010, also was in attendance. Unfortunately Uga, the Georgia Bulldogs mascot was not in attendance.
It was a great day to have the over, and both QBs to score a rushing TD.
