Harry Kane anytime goal scorer
Over 3.5 goals
Here in the US, we have 3x Stanley cup Champion and beer god Patrick Kane. We have country music sensation Kane Brown. Most importantly, we have the half brother of the Undertaker and mayor of Knox County Tennessee....Kane. However, the world's most famous "Kane" is non-other than Spurs Captain Harry Kane. This man is a leader in all sense of the word, for both club and country. He always seems to rise to the occasion when his squad needs a big time goal when they need it the most. Expect to see him rise to the occasion in Marseille.
Now Group D, as we touched upon last week, is still up for grabs where the 1st place team (Tottenham) has 8 points and the last place team (Marseille) have 6 points with one game left to play. Marseille are in a position where they must win in order to advance to the the round of 16. This desperation going forward is sure to open the game up for Tottenham counter attack, and who else better to lead the charge than Harry Kane and Heung-min Son. In all competitions, the Kane and Son duo have scored 51% of Spurs goals this season. I expect both to have numerous attacking opportunity's with the Marseille high press. Kane is the safer play to score here over Son due to the fact that he had goal wiped away due to VAR last week so he'll play pissed off and he is Spurs go to Penalty taker. Its also worth mentioning that Marseille have been poor form as of recent, pulling out 1 win in their last 6 matches and conceding 7 goals. Another reason why Kane should be the play are Spurs injures to Richarlison and Kulusevski, so the attacking options will be limited.
For Marseille, its simple.....just win and as we said before, they will be aggressive and i believe the tools are there to scratch across a result. The former Arsenal lads Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac (who might have the biggest calves in the world, ones that would get Johnny Drama going) and Gunners loanee Nuno Tavares will have a big part and they will love nothing more than taking down their former North London rivals. This tandem has a total of 12 goals scored in all competitions this season, which is 44% of the teams goals. Spurs haven't won on the road yet this season in champions league play, and with a hostile crowd at the Stade Velodrome is sure to make things difficult. Tottenham will also be without Christian Romero, so look for Marseille to expose the Spurs back line early behind this energized crowd.
This will be an up and down, high scoring affair from the start. I expect a 3-2 Spurs victory with a Kane brace to secure a birth in the round of 16.
