Oh man after this game ended the first thing everyone was saying on twitter was how bad Urban Meyer was for the Jags last year, which everyone already knew since he was fired halfway through the season in 2021. Shout out Nathanial Hackett for taking Meyer off the hot seat after a terrible season in Denver.
Rashawn Jenkins and Josh Allen(not the QB) put the Jacksonville Jaguars back in the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Jenkins was untouched on a blitz and hit Josh Dobbs' arm just before he released the football. Allen fielded it on one soft bounce and went untouched into the end zone. It was the team's 27th forced turnover of the season. They've scored 111 points off those turnovers, which is tied with the Patriots for the most in the NFL, per ESPN Stats & Information research.
Side note, congrats to Josh Dobbs dude balled tonight for the spot he was put in and the implications of the last week of a season. Dobbs finished with 20 completions on 29 pass attempts for 179 yards, one touchdown and an interception, can't really ask for more out of your 3rd string QB.
Lawrence didn't look great and this game was boring at times especially the start of the 4th quarter and majority of the second half up until the last 5 minutes. Lawrence missed two potential touchdowns with an overthrow and an underthrow. Lawrence overthrew a wide open Zay Jones in the end zone. Per NFL NextGen Stats Jones had 10.2 yards of separation from the nearest defender. Lawrence was pressured on the play but the miss forced the Jaguars to settle for a field goal to cut the Titans' lead to 13-10.
Whoever runs the Jaguars social media posted an all time troll clip after the game at some random Tiktoker who posted a video before the season started saying how they overpaid Christian Kirk who wasnt considered a top 35 receiver, Evan Engram who is a "tight end with no hands", and Zay Jones who had 11 touchdowns in 6 seasons. All three of them had career highs in receptions this year.
I don't know if people have been talking about this for a while, or its just because the new Avatar movie just came out, but dear lord, if Trevor Lawrence painted his skin blue he would fit in perfectly with the Na'vi.
