The Jags are RED HOT. Trevor Lawrence is playing unreal and like the QB who was the #1 overall pick. Both teams are fighting for a playoff spot, and the Jags have a realistic chance to win the AFC South with Ryan Tannehill out for the reason of the season. Jets are still riding with Zach Wilson and I just don't have faith in him, no matter how much he spent on the Christmas gifts for his offensive line.
LOCKS:
Jags +2 (-110)/Jags ML (+110)
Jags are 4-2 since November with their only two losses coming against the Chiefs and the Lions who might be the hottest team in the NFL. Were Jaggin off tonight, taking the points and the ML. 2 units each.
Trevor Lawrence O 214.5 passing yards (-109)
In their 4-2 stretch, Lawrence has surpassed 215 yards in every 5 of those 6 games. I think the Jets defense is legit, but they wont have Quinnen Williams in their pass rush tonight and Sauce Gardner cant cover everyone receiving option. This is an easy play.
Evan Engram O 40.5 receiving yards (-104)
Engram has been a favorite of Lawrence in the last two weeks. 25 targets in the last two games (10 & 15). This line initially opened at 46.5 depending on the sports book you use, but at Engram to get 41 is a lock, as I imagine Lawrence will be checking down a lot knowing Sauce Gardner is going to be shutting down the outside receiving game.
Zach Wilson U 17.5 passing completions (-103)
Wilson’s 54.9 completion percentage is the worst mark in football with QBs attempting at least 120 passes. Despite being benched Wilson is 5-3 as a starter this year, in 4 of those games has he had 18 or more completions, and only completed 18 or more passes in back to back games once. I wish I got this line when it came out at 18.5 but still don't trust Wilson.
LONGSHOTS:
Zach Wilson U 0.5 Interceptions (+160)
I really don't think this is as scary of a bet as most people think. Wilson has 6 INTs on the season, 3 of which came against the Patriots (10/30). He threw one last week against the Detroit, but last years "Mr. INT" has done a pretty good job of not turning the ball over this season. I'm going to take the value here.
Zay Jones First Touchdown Scorer (+675)
Jones had 3 TD's last week against Dallas, and 1 the week before against the Titans. Jets secondary is solid but I'm going to ride the hot hand here.
Evan Engrams to Score 2 TD's (+1600)
Cant hurt to sprinkle this if it hits. Engram scored twice against the Titans two weeks ago. I expect him to get a heavy work load especially if the Jags are in the redzone. Side note wearing 17 as a tight end SUCKS.
