Sigh, couldn't even make it to the off season before the browns revert back to their old shit. So Jadeveon Clowney was sent home from Browns practice today, after he publicly went after the Browns in his interview Thursday with Cleveland.com.
“Ninety-five percent sure I won’t be back,” Clowney told cleveland.com on Thursday. “But there’s still that 5 percent. You never know what can happen.” Clowney, who missed four games this season because of an ankle injury and concussion, said he’ll likely be gone because he doesn’t think the Browns put him in the best positions to excel. “I just feel like I need to be around somebody that believes in me and my ability,” Clowney, who will turn 30 on Feb. 14 said. “(It can’t) just be me believing in myself. I believe in myself more than anybody.”
First off, let's start by saying Jadeveon #Clownshow is always pulling shit like this. Going into this season he "held out" and basically waited until wanted him bad enough to get another 1 year contract to "prove it". 2021 he had a good season 9 sacks in 14 games, compared to this year he had 2 in 12 games (missed 4 games from an ankle injury and a concussion. The Browns defense which was projected to perform well this year, floundered early in week 2 when they let the Jets who were led by Joe fucking Flacco (elite).
But where his comments became comical was when he spoke about teammate Myles Garret...“
There’s supposed to be a lot of changes around here next year, so they might not be back — and I might,” Clowney said.
The root cause of his unhappiness — which has lingered throughout the season — is that he feels the Browns have removed him from favorable matchups at various points throughout the season, and put Myles Garrett on a lesser offensive lineman instead to showcase their star defensive end.
Now hear me out because this is going to sound a little silly, and I am not an NFL defensive coordinator, but I play a lot of madden and I am nice on the sticks. Wouldn't you want to put your defensive player, and top 3 edge rusher in the league, against weaker/less talented players? Garret also has 2.5 less sacks than Nick Bosa who is most likely winning defensive player of the year. Clowney has never had double digits sacks btw.
It was a tough season for the Browns to say the least, and I'm sure Clowney isn't the only player frustrated, but was the only player to go to the media and cry about it. "You're all trying to get [Garrett] into the Hall of Fame instead of winning games," Clowney said. "I don't even think [Garrett] notices. I ain't trying to say it's him. I try to get along with everybody I play with. Me and him don't have a problem. It ain't his fault, and it's B.S., and I don't have time for it." Wah wah wah
Myles Garret handled it like a real pro "I knew he was frustrated. We've all been frustrated; we're not winning," Garrett said. "I wish we could've talked about this man-to-man. ... I wish he would have handled it a little bit differently."
Whatever, Clowney is going to be gone, sucks to whatever team signs him. Browns are winning the Super Bowl next year.
