First of all shout out Lamar Jackson for getting the bag! You had to think this deal was bound to get done after Aaron Rodgers was traded to the Jets on Monday, Lamar was the last domino to fall in this offseason QB carousel. He also did this all without an agent, saved himself a cool $7.5 million in agent fees.
Breaking down the deal in terms of guaranteed money, I think this is a more than fair deal. Lamar will be guaranteed $185 million, not bad for a QB who once shit his pants, and then came back to beat the Cleveland Browns with a minute left in the 4th quarter. Due to his injury history, and his style of play, Baltimore had to be mindful of how much they could really give this dude.
Baltimore did everything Jackson wanted. They got a new OC that can broaden the vision of the offense and open things up. They signed OBJ, who also can be a health question mark, but WHEN healthy, can be an elite WR. And the rest of the roster is damn near top level. The missing piece is, and always has been, a healthy Lamar Jackson.
