Raiders Will Bench Derek Carr, Too Little Too Late

Devante Adams on the phone with Aaron Rodgers right now like an ex gf after cheating "cmon baby let's give this thing another chance, it was just a mistake, I still love youuuu!!!!" There are a handful of players that can get both the bag and a ring, and Devante went with the bag, and rightfully so because he has arguably been the best receiver, or within top 3 the last 5 seasons. But this is about Derek Carr.

They never should've believe in a QB who wears mascara, and is always crying after games because he cares so much and loves his teammates. I wont flat out say Derek Carr is a bad quarterback, but he's not good, and definitely not great. Carr is the QB version of vanilla ice cream, or missionary sex. Nothing flashy, you're not going to be "wooed", you know exactly what you're getting.

Here are his numbers going into this season. A lot of average, sprinkled in with some good years. In 2021, I feel like he fooled everyone because he almost threw for 5000 yards. But good for him because they invested in him this offseason and brought in Devante Adams and probably thought, these two are about to go off.

Outside of a stellar season from Adams, paired with Josh Jacobs who was an absolute work horse this season, the Raiders sit at 6-9 (nice) going into the last two games of the season in which they decided to bench Carr for Jarrett Stidham. The loss to the Steelers on Saturday night was ugly, and almost cost me my fantasy playoffs because it seemed as though Carr didn't even attempt to look Adams way late in the 4th. Stidham has to go against the 49ers and Chiefs to close out the defense, I doubt he will change any of the leagues playoff implications but who knows!

Cant be handing out huge contract extensions to QB's and then bench them the end of the year. Look at the Commanders bringing back Wentz this week because they pay him so much. Speaking of Carr's extension, Field Yates tweeted this out earlier today:

"While the Raiders signed Derek Carr to a 3-year, $121.5M extension this past offseason, the team would incur a dead cap hit of $5.625M if cut/traded this offseason. As far as QB deals go, that’s a minuscule amount. Will be an interesting offseason for Las Vegas at QB.

— Field Yates (@FieldYates)December 28, 2022"

A lot of people are already saying if he is cut/traded it would make the most sense for the Colts, but here are a few dark horses I believe may be in the mix this offseason for Carr.

Commanders, Jets, Patriots. But I don't know shit about fuck.
