NBA Pre Draft Trades

It's been a wild 24 hours in the NBA world. Were an hour away from the 2023 draft, and we have already seen some big name trades. Obviously we have already seen CP3 sent to Washington in return sending Bradley Beal to Phoenix. Then yesterday afternoon the rumors started swirling that Kristaps Porzingis was heading to Boston. And then that deal died. But it didnt.....

Porzingis is now a Celtic and they sent their #1 defensive option, locker room leader, and maybe the heart of their locker room, Marcus Smart, to Memphis. Ive seen mixed reviews on twitter from Celtic fans about this trade, but something needed to be done. They weren't getting it done. Losing to the Warriors in the 2021/22 Finals, and then going down 3-1 to the Miami Heat in the ECF, to come back and lose in 7. Celtic fans are all saying to "trust" Brad Stevens, who has also said they are far from done making moves today. So I'm curious to see what they do before, or during tonights draft. I am sure Ja Morant and Marcus Smart will be best friends.

But that wasn't the only big trade that was made. It was clear that the Wizards would be moving CP3 before he could even suit up for a game. And now he is headed to the bay area to team up with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and I would assume Draymond Green resigns with the Warriors now that Jordan Poole is gone. I think this is probably as good as a chance for CP3 to get a ring, that he did these last few seasons in Phoenix.

Washington will get Poole, who will step into the starting shooting guard spot vacated by Beal in the trade, and as part of a newly formed starting backcourt for the Wizards that has come together in the past 24 hours.

If this is what we can expect tonight, the Draft is going to be absolutely insane. You almost have to take a second and re-read that tweet to digest it. I thought the whole point of the Warriors moves this summer was to clear their books and not commit to any sort of long term money?

Anyway, Brandon Miller decided to spill the beans about Michael Jordan air balling a free throw during his workout with the Hornets, now he's projected to go 3rd overall and Scoot is the favorite to go 2nd to the Hornets. Shout out @PFTCommenter for the #freeplay tonight!
