You could tell every time they panned to Kareem during last night Lakers game he wanted no part being there. While they share similarities as two of the NBA's most prolific scorers, James and Abdul-Jabbar don't have much of a relationship. In fact, James once said there is "no relationship" at all.
"Some of the great things that he's done, he's standing on both sides of the fence almost, you know? It makes it hard for me to accept that when he's committed himself to a different take on everything," Abdul-Jabbar said. "It's hard to figure out where he's standing. You've got to check him out every time."
Over the last few years it has become extremely open that these two aren't close, and that was displayed live last night. The NBA had to stop the game with less than a minute left in the 3rd quarter...THE 3RD QUARTER! Couldn't even let the quarter finish and skip the commercial break. All Kareem wanted to do was hand Lebron the ball and keep it moving. Meanwhile we have Drake on our TVs talking about LBJ. Shout out to Kareem, my mans just wanted to sip on a cranberry vodka and get through the night.
Id rather be caught sippin on a cranberry vodka (delicious and refreshing) than acting like this after a foul that wasn't called.
