Conference Championship Weekend for the NFL is here...and one of the biggest story lines is Patrick Mahomes ankle injury. Yesterday on the @PatMcAfeeShow he did a great breaking it down with the big board of Mahomes leaving his press conference with no signs of a walking boot or a limp.
As Dr. McAfee broke down there was some pep in Mahomes step. Now Mahomes heads to his team to his 5th consecutive conference title game with a 9-3 career playoff record.
He is 0-3 in he career against Joe Burrow. Just going to rattle off some quick summaries of those games:
2021 regular season, 34-31 Bengals win at Cincinnati: The Chiefs led 28-24 into the fourth quarter. Zac Taylor made an odd decision to go for it on fourth-and-goal at the 1-yard line in a tie game in the final minute and was twice bailed out by Chiefs defensive penalties (the first one was offset by an offensive holding call).
2021 AFC championship game, 27-24 Bengals win at KC: The Chiefs led 21-3, famously, and the game was tied into the fourth quarter. The Chiefs had first-and-goal at the 5-yard line inside the final two minutes of regulation but were held out of the end zone, settled for a field goal, threw an interception on the first drive of overtime and lost.
2022 regular season, 27-24 Bengals win at Cincinnati: The Chiefs led 24-17 going into the fourth quarter. A rare Travis Kelce fumble and a missed field goal in the fourth quarter flipped the game.
Chiefs have been a power house in the AFC since Mahomes took over under center in KC, and while the Bengals are playing better than their Super Bowl...neither teams are the point of this blog.
I present you with the real Mahomes' who will be problems this weekend.
We were so close....and I mean SO close to making it through the NFL playoffs without a video from these two assholes, let alone a 3+ minute montage on youtube. I don't know how Patrick deals with either of them, or how the two of them don't get sick of one another screaming in one another's ears. Also I find it funny how the Mahomes suite at Arrowhead stadium is never packed out. This may be an assumption but I imagine it's because no one wants to be around these two. The fact that we made it this far into the season without hearing from either one of them was the most impressive achievement Pat did this season, and he's most likely going to be the league MVP.
Mahomes was given 1 rule he had to follow in order to win head back to Disney with a Super Bowl.
This could be Patrick Mahomes (Tony Stark) and Jackson (emotional Peter Park) if he goes on to win his second Super Bowl.
Unfortunately this is going to be Patrick Mahomes after he loses to the Bengals on Sunday, because his dumb ass brother and wife cant shut the fuck up.
