Oh man has Eli Apple been on a twitter rampage after beating the Bills on Sunday. Does this guy know he still has two more games to win? Does he forget he got cooked by Cooper Kupp in the Super Bowl last year?
This man out here acting like the Patrick Beverly of the NFL. Running his mouth without any rings or real recognition from the league.
One of the tweets, "Cancun on 3" - with the hearts made of hands emoji Damar Hamlin has used during his recovery - was deemed particularly offensive by some because it was perceived as a reference to Hamlin. Apple explained in a tweet he sent Tuesday afternoon that that's not what he intended, adding that his love, thoughts, prayers and concerns are with Hamlin as his recovery continues:
Trolling is all fun and games until the league comes back at your neck for making light of one of the most heart warming stories across the NFL this season. Hard to say if Apple was serious or actually is stupid enough to not realize what that emoji meant while chirping Buffalo. Who knows, Apple probably thinks he's a top 3 corner in the league.
I can see Apple chirping Travis Kelce on twitter after this Sundays game, IF the bengals win, even though he probably wont cover Kelce.
