The dunk of the year belongs to Anthony Edwards.
The Minnesota Timberwolves star threw down an absolutely ridiculous dunk in the second half of their 114-104 win over the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center on Monday night. Edwards rose up on a fast break and didn’t flinch while putting Jazz forward John Collins on a poster.
In fact, Edwards threw down the dunk so hard he appeared to actually hurt his finger in the process. Edwards drew the foul on the play, and stayed in the game. Turns out Edwards dislocated the middle finger on his left hand and sent Collins into the locker room with a head contusion. Collins didn’t return. While the play itself was remarkable, the photos from the dunk were somehow better than the videos.
This is some grown ass man shit!!! The ANT man had John Collins looking like a little boy. You can't let another man do this to you, and if it happens you have to come up swinging or retire. Nuts 2 face, smh. This was peak Blake Griffin, just posterizing another grown man, pause.
"I was thinking I was going to miss it because I wasn't close to the rim, but somehow God willed it in for me," the Timberwolves star explained. The post game interview was next level. Anthony Edwards needs to be in the dunk contest next year, pay the man whatever he requests, he will bring back excitement to the event.
