ALDS Game 1 Recap

Going into a division series after a week off, the hangover of Judge claiming the AL home run record, the Yankees took on the Cleveland Guardians. Gerrit Cole to the mound looking to finally silence the NY Yankee fans with every gold chain and pockets full of prosciutto. As a Yankee fan I am quick to get on Cole, he gave up 33 home runs during the regular season, and sure enough gave up an early home run in the third inning. Cole settled in quick, although had a high pitch count, Cole noticeably wasn't his best, but as the game went on you could tell the movement in his pitches get better as the game progressed. Luckily Badar had a solo shot to tie the game at 1-1 and after that you could tell that injected lift into the Yankees dugout. Josh Donaldson (past his prime cocky prick) pimped what he thought was a go ahead home run to make the game 2-1, only to get thrown out at 1st on a ball that hit the top of the short porch and stayed in. IKF followed up with a triple which would have made the game 2-1 and then to later score on a sac fly. Anthony (Italian Stallion) Rizzo was able to launch a 2 run homer into the second deck to make the game 4-1, which ended up being the final score. Personally, I was nervous when Boone pulled Cole for Johnny Lasagna, however the depleted Yankees bullpen was able to get it done.

Final Score 4-1. Looking forward to game 2 it will be Nestor Cortes vs Shane (Justin) Bieber. With how Nestor pitched all season I thought he deserved game 1 but we survive and advance. Nestor v Bieber will be a dual for game 2 and I predict Yanks in 4.
